smackdown weekend house show

- MVP defeated Jamie Noble in a Money in the Bank qualifying match at the house show in Oshkosh, Wisc.

- Matt Hardy wrestled for the first time this year on the Oshkosh show. He also wrestled again on Sunday, so don’t be surprised if he returns to television on at the Smackdown tapings this week.

- Hornswoggle did not appear on the Oshkosh show despite it being his hometown. He was featured in newspaper stories in the days leading up to the event, but WWE officials apparently decided to have him sell his story line injuries.

- There was a WrestleMania 24 preview match at the Dubuque house show on Sunday between JBL and Finlay.

- Kevin Thorn, who has abandoned the vampire gimmick, was managed by Matt Striker on two shows this weekend. These two were previously tied together in the New Breed faction.

Raw House Shows

- Mr. Kennedy worked as a babyface on the weekend shows in his home state of Wisconsin, including on Sunday’s house show in his hometown of Green Bay.

- On the same Green Bay show, D.H. Smith responded to a steroid catcall by looking at the fan and flexing his biceps.

- Triple H and Shawn Michaels received praise for going out of their way to shake hands with fans at the weekend house shows. They spent nearly 10 minutes shaking hands and posing for pictures at the house show in Madison, Wisc.

- Jeff Hardy did not appear on the weekend shows.
